SnoutSwap (“we”, “us”, “SnoutSwap”) runs a peer-to-peer marketplace for renting, buying and selling second-hand items and booking local services. We process personal data to operate the platform, provide features (including AI tools), and keep the community safe. This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can control your data.

1. What We Collect

  • Identity: name, profile photo, email, phone.
  • Contact: address, city, and PIN code (where provided).
  • Verification Data: KYC documents (Aadhaar/passport), PAN (if provided), masked bank details for payouts, and liveness selfie used for verification.
  • Transactional: listings, booking history, and payment metadata from gateway references.
  • Content: photos, descriptions, chat messages, reviews, and support submissions.
  • Device & Analytics: IP, device model, OS, app/web logs, usage events.
  • Derived Data: Honor Score, AI suggestions, and fraud-risk indicators.

2. How We Use Data

  • Provide core marketplace features (listings, search, booking, messaging).
  • Generate AI-assisted listing drafts (titles, descriptions, category suggestions).
  • Support Honor Score and fraud detection systems.
  • Verify identity and reduce abuse (KYC and liveness checks).
  • Process payments via integrated payment gateway partners and handle eligible refunds/disputes.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

3. Aadhaar & Identity Verification (Important)

  • Aadhaar verification is used only where legally permitted and with explicit consent.
  • We request minimum information needed for verification and rely on compliant authentication/tokenized flows where required.
  • We do not store Aadhaar numbers or biometrics in plain text outside legally permitted mechanisms.
  • Alternative KYC methods may be provided where feasible.

Compliance note: Aadhaar and biometric handling are subject to UIDAI and DPDP requirements. Implementation and policy wording must remain aligned with applicable law.

4. AI Processing & Automated Decisions

  • AI may process listing text/images to suggest descriptions, categories, and indicative pricing ranges.
  • AI may contribute to moderation and Honor Score-related insights.
  • AI output is assistive; you can edit before publishing.
  • If a material automated action affects your account, you may request human review via support.

5. Sharing & Third Parties

  • We share data only as needed with service providers: payment partners, cloud/auth/database providers, analytics and communication providers.
  • Key providers may include Cashfree/PayKun (payments), Firebase (auth/db), and Cloudflare (security/performance).
  • We may disclose data when legally required.
  • We do not sell personal data for advertising.

6. Retention

  • Transaction records: retained at least 3 years or as required by law.
  • Chat/listing communications: generally retained up to 30 days after account deletion for dispute support.
  • KYC records: retained per legal requirements and compliant identity-verification standards.

7. Security

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and controlled access to sensitive systems.
  • Restricted access for authorized staff only.
  • Periodic security reviews and incident-response safeguards.
